Neighbourhood Houses
Kingston Neighbourhood House
What we do - Since opening in 1985, the Kingston Neighbourhood House has welcomed 1,000s of community members to our programs, services and activities. Everything we do is designed to respond to the needs of local community members. We provide support, resources and services designed to improve the health and well being of all members of the community.
The House is proudly run by a friendly and committed team of volunteers and paid staff and is managed by a voluntary committee made up of people who live or work in our community.
We welcome people from all walks of live to visit the House for support, information or referral, or to participate in the activities and events we offer. The House is also a place where you can get involved in community development work. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience in our community and together we can take action to resolve local issues or address needs. Key community issues we are working on now include reducing social isolation and improving local access to affordable, healthy food.
Our services and activities include:
- Coffee, Craft and Chat
- NILS Loans
- Childcare for Children 0 - 5 years old
- Play Group
- Eating with Friends
- APM Employment/Disability job services counselling
- Grow Mental Wellness Program
